MISS THOMAS In Memoriam or twenty-five years Miss Marion Thomas taught business and secretarial subiects at Riverside. Under her guidance the Office Practice course was introduced. A token ot her continuing loyalty to the school and her concern for its students was the bequest of a sum of money, to provide awards for outstanding Commercial students. Those who knew Miss Thor..as will remember her for her quiet charm, the warmth of her friendship, her sym- pathetic concern tor others, and her patientond courageous spirit. Iss Helen Remington taught for many years in the Buffalo School System. ln the short time she was at Riverside, however, she endeared herself to teachers and students alike. To her knowledge of her subject, she brought an artistic touch which enriched her teaching. But more than this, her influence upon her students stemmed from a deep interest in them as individuals. ln spite of being handicapped by poor health she gave of herself to such a degree that she was an inspira- tion to all who knew her. 21 'Q fo-...,,, MISS REMINGTON

Honors Classes wth the opening of school last September came an especially important addition to the curriculums in all city high schools. Recognizing that the intellectually gifted high school student can and should follow a program which is ot a more substantial and enriched fibre than that which is ordinarily pursued by most high school students, Honors Classes were formed. Through the introduction of an Honors Program many stim- ulating and challenging courses are now avail- able for students of outstanding ability.
