HILE here at Riverside we, the Seniors, have been the composers of this symphony. The composition, our high school life, has wrought great royalties. Nothing will compare with the friendships won and the good will created. We, the graduates of 1952, go now from the halls of Riverside carrying with us the melody of friendship and good will toward all our fellowmen. With four years of experience behind us we should be able to compose an even greater symphony. So make life, death and that vast Forever One grand, sweet song. 12 Kingsley

TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1952 To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respect- able, and wealthy, not rich, to study hard think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony. William Henry Channing HE symphony of life of a student portrays the reflection of past hopes, the fulfillment of present ambition, and the foreshadowing of progress to come. Your four years at Riverside are completed. They have been crowded, happy years, full of action. They have been years of planning for that future from which you expect so much. We trust that you have acquired a sound and adequate foundation that will make it possible for you to meet the storms and misunderstandings in life. May you be like those pioneers who went forth with firm faith, in the knowledge that there is much labor, adiustment and building to be done if a harmonious world is to be established. Go forth into life promoting the best in others, practicing fair play and honest dealing, and thus guard our real Freedom and Faith in God. In thisway, a real symphony oflife may be created. meffw
