Foreword F, in the pages of this year's SKIPPER, you sense the spirit of American democracy in action, we shall feel that we have accomplished our purpose. We have chosen as the theme of our yearbook, the United Nations, for we feel that here lies still a gleam of hope in a critical world. As students of a democratic institution, it is important that We remind our- selves of the aim of the United Nations: one world. This ideal can become an actuality only if a spirit of true brotherhood prevails. Here at Riverside we feel that through the blending of social, religious, and cultural differences we have already taken a step toward the achievement of one wor1d. Through tolerance our associations are harmonious and peaceful. If we can carry this way of living into the larger sphere of our relationships beyond school, we shall not have failed to do our part in helping to achieve one world. 4
