Class Nistory The Se nior Class of 1963 started off four years ago on a long tedious journey into outer space.We were alittle puzzled, but we boarded our space ship and prepared for take-off with Mrs. I.W. Foster and Mrs. R.T. Maxwell at the control panel. We were further organized as follows: Lena Tanner, President; John Perry ident; Mary Perry, Secretary; Juanita Macon, Assistant, Secretary. The'student council was exploréd for ‘byBarbara Williams, Marian Brodie and EarnestineGatling . As we looked out of our spaceship window we saw these persons participating in favorite ,sports. “Fé €$6tball team was filled with the muscles of James Powell, James Cheek, Raymond Davis and James... Hampton. Dorothy Stallings and Earl Dent made the Basketball team, .and James Powell ran track. le p. Sah Nee One year after our successful take-off we landed on a planet called-Sopho:-We were a little tired from traveling 4. t ' whole year, but we were determined to complete our mission. Ten A Started off with a big bang when they elected Helen Branch as’their leader. “Her co-workers were Willie Mae Harris, Vice-President; Marjorie Dunston, Secretary; i Francis Bobbitt, Assistant Secretary and Fred Fogg, Treasurer. At one of its famous: gymnasiums we held our JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM. Our theme was An Evening in Outer Space. The Downbeats of | Warrenton, North Carolina furnished the music. After this big event the Junior class started planning for a more exciting event GRADUATION. = We had managed to save enough fuel for a final round of exploring during our senior year. Marian Brodie, Marjorie ‘Dunston, Glendora Thomas and John Perry continued to represent us on the Student Council.James Cheek, James Powell. and Robert Davis represented us in football and James Cheek, James»Powellj»and-Marjorie Dunston on the basketball ae Stal ist’Of préparations was ClassNight somewhere out there in outer space in orbit.
