Our grid record was eight losses and one win, Although the team looked brilliant in spots, we could not seem to show this in the final score. Here is a rundown of games and highlights: ' Willougliby 25 Riverside 6 The Beavers opened the season with a loss at Xvillonghby. The defense was good, but the offense failed. junior McCauley threw a ten yard paass to Dick Finlin for the only score. ' Astabula 31 Riverside O Again a poor offense told the story. Defense wore down after holding Bula to seven points in the first half. , ' Riverside 32 Astabula St. john 0 This was by far, the brightest part of the season. Don Morris and Dick Finlin each scored twice, while Gary Dominish caught a touchdown pass. ' Mentor 39 Riverside 6 The cardinals won their 29th straight at our expense, Dick Finlin's pass to Gene Esterhay was the only score for the Beavers. 86 F00'l'BAl.li TEAM 53254-'Er Sf 'F and Gene Esterhay.
