On the Green In its second season, the Boys' Varsity golf team, had a strong 1984 campaign. Playing on a tough course (Fox Hill Golf and Country Club) helped the team tremendously. Led by senior Jim Crowley and Sophomore Mark Roberts, Coach Lambiase's Linksters Finished up the year with three wins and nine losses. The most encouraging aspect of the season was the improvement of the younger players. It is easy to see that the golf team has a bright future as seven of the ten members of this year’s team were underclassmen. As the season progressed, the improve- ment of these players became evident as their scores became lower and lower. (In golf, the lower the score the better.) The team's finest hour came at the conference tournament. Under pressure, the WAVE golfers recorded their lowest score of the year. If this season's performance is any in- dication of what lies ahead, Riverhead's golf team will be a competitive one for a long time. Fore!!
