In Memoriam Mrs. Irene Underwood January 15, 1931- November 30, 1981 The students and faculty of RHS as well as the Riverhead community were greatly saddened by the loss of Mrs. Irene Underwood. She was a River- head graduate who went on to become an outstand- ing Registered Nurse. Working in Central Suffolk Hospital she initiated the thought and started, the out patient clinic there. She was always involved in community activities. Later Mrs. Underwood re- turned to RHS to become our school nurse. We all will truly value the memory of such an outstanding leader as Mrs. Irene Underwood. Patrick Laskey August 7, 1964- Octobor 21, 1981 Many members of RHS were greatly sad- dened upon the death of Patrick Laskey. Pat was killed in an automobile accident. Those of us who knew Pat will always remember his carefree personality and his never ending ability to make people laugh. The circum- stances of his untimely departure will remain as a harsh look at reality. We will all terribly miss our friend and classmate. Patrick Las- key. Orange Samuel Tuthill February 4, 1964-August 16, 1980 When many of the students of RHS arrived for class the first day of school, September 1980. they were shocked to hear that Orange (Samuel) Tuthill had died that summer. Sam, as he was known, was truly a unique human being. While having the ability to appear out- going. he basically kept his personal life to himself. Only those who were truly close to Sam know his every move. While Sam be- friended everyone, many enjoyed his com- pany. We feel a deep sense of the loss of Or- ange Samuel Tuthill. William (Willie) Roach June 13, 1963-October 22, 1981 At the same time that RHS was shocked by- news of Partick's death many were praying for Willie Roach. Willie had sustained critical injuries in the same accident. These were fatal for Willie also. But as a friend said If just one person learns from this, then it is all worth while . We all will greatly miss Willie, but while he is at last safely resting—will we take heed to this warning .... and learn.

Our dedication this year goes out toa very special, unique person—Mr. Stanley Koroleski. He has shown us what dedication truly means, not only is he the yearbook advisor, but has has also been the class of 1982's advisor since our freshman year—a great accomplishment in itself. As Burke said, Men who undertake considerable things, even in a regular way ought to give us grounds to presume ability. “Uncle Stan , as he is known to most of us, certainly has that ability. With a class of students who were (for the most part) bascially apathetic he still managed to plan an enjoyable senior year, as well as producing a wonderful yearbook. The most unique thing about Uncle Stan is his ability to laugh. Through all the hassles of yearbook and class advisorship, he still found time to have fun. We have seen this through the great times we had at float meetings, football games, pep rallies, and other special times. But his smiles also lasted through the rough times he had to endure, along with a few students, because when there was work to be done “Stan did not get much support. Through all these “tough times” one thing we remember is the constant voice of Mr. K saying that he was cynical... but as Somerset Maugham wrote, “If to look truth in the face and not resent it, when it’s unpalatable, and take human nature as you find it.. . is to be cynical, then I suppose I am a cynic. Mr. K. would truly agree. We have decided that half the problem with getting help was best explained by Henry Wadsworth Longfel- low when he said. Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions. And surely “Uncle Stan knows of whom we speak. We truly owe this wonderful person our deep gratitude and appreciation. From the bottom of our hearts we sincerely say THANK YOU!!! YOUR GREAT!!! Toots and Sexpot P.S. May your life never be bothered by puppies, kittens or cheap quoted posters... you cynic ...we love ya!!! 3
