CHARLES FLOEGE Charles Floege was one of the few quiet people in Senior Study Halls. Debbie Folk partici- pated in Volleyball, Badminton, Golf, and Hockey. She was a member of the Library Club, G.L.C., and on the Halloween Wall Committee. She won second place in the Blood Drive Post- er Contest in her Senior year. Her future aspiration is to become a horsewoman. Rose Marie Fontana was known to us as “Roe.” She was active in Library Club and Choir for three years. Her Senior year was spent in the Vocational School. Roe intends to travel extensively in fu- ture years. Surfing is more than just a sport to Joe Fuchs, it is a way of life. A member of the Eastern Surfing Association, “Surfski” was rated number four surfer of districts number one, two, and three in 1970, which includes most of the East Coast of the U.S. He hunts, fishes, hikes, camps, and lives free as the wind. He wishes to become a doctor of Oceanography. Tom Gabrielsen transferred from Calhoun H.S. in Merrick. Tom spent his senior year in the Voca- tional School and intends to go into building construction. Janet Gaines was a quiet girl know to us as “Ann.” Lorraine Theresa Galante, known better as “Rainy,” was a member of Latin Club as a freshman and plans to pursue a career in elementary education. GAIL CATHRYN EDWARDS JOANNE ERICKSON Gail Edwards has been an active member of the choir all four years. “Gee” plans to enter the business world. Joanne Erickson, we called her “Jay.” Her activities include French Club, S.A.C., and Band for three years. As a Senior she was a member of Honor Society and Year- book staff. Jay intends to go into ministerial work. Carleen Fagan, who wants to go into the field of fashion and illustration design, won fourth place in the Fire Prevention Poster contest in her sophomore year. She participated in Archery and worked on the Halloween Wall that earned our class first prize for the fourth year. Walter Figurny loves cars and enjoys racing them. He is undecided about his career but, he does plan to attend college. Fern Fisher, since her transfer here from Springfield Gardens High School, has been the Vice President of the Senior Class and a member of both the Curriculum Committee and the Student Action Com- mittee. Besides being the Secretary of the Zenger Press, she was a Varsity Cheerleader and a valuable part of the Black Ensemble and the Yearbook. She has received such high honors as a Letter of Commendation from the National Achievement Scholarship Association, a mem- bership in the National Honor Society, the D.A.R. Good Citizen Award and Magna Cum Laude. A friendly and outgoing girl, she will succeed in the field of secondary education. T. Charles Fleischman, was known as “Chip.” He was a three year member of German Club. As a senior he was the Yearbook Staff Photographer, on the Bowling team, and a Regents Schol- arship Alternate. Chip intends to go into Professional Photography. Gregory Flippen, better known as “Flip, was active in Choir for two years. However, he will be remembered for his athletic ability in Track, Wrestling and Cross Country. He was League Champ for four years, N. Y. State and County Champ for three years, Eastern States Champ, and National Junior Champ. He set the N. Y. State Record in Long Jump of 25 ft. ROSE MARY GALKA VIRGINIA GELLER GWENDOLYN GERTRUDE GATZ Rosemary Galka, aside from her school work, works at the A P Supermarket as a checker. Her plans are to get mar- ried in the near future. Cynthia Gamble, a transfer from Barbour County H.S. in Alabama has been very active in Girls’ Sports. She’s been an active participant in Basket- ball, Volleyball and Track. She was the Secretary of her class in eleventh grade and she hopes to become a book- keeper or secretary. Gwendolyn Gatz, known to us as “Gwen,” has been in Choir for her freshman and sopho- more years. She worked on the Headstart Christmasparty in her junior year. In her senior year she helped put the yearbook together with her great typing. She likes helping her father on the farm and loves the outdoors. Her future career is to be a Hairstylist. Dennis Gayda known to us as “Denny” was in Football in his freshman and sophomore year. He plans to go on to college. Virginia Geller, better known as “Ginnie,” always has a nice smile. Also, we can’t forget she worked in Grants. Jeff Gibel is a hardworking fellow. He spends many hours after school at his job. Wal- ter Gilbert, a student in the Vocational School, has made an early start in a career in the business world. Edgar Ale” Goodale, has been an active Wrestler through his four years at R.H.S.
