Born in North Wilbraham, Massachusetts, he attended grammar school there and was first clarinet in the orchestra besides doing extensive painting and printing. His interest in music and art followed him into the Minnechaug Regional High School in North Wilbraham where he was also inter- ested in gymnastics. He entered the American University in Washington, D.C. in 1964 as an art major. It wasn’t until his sophomore year there that his interest in Marine Biology began. He transferred to Cornell University where, in his junior year, Marine Biology became his main interest. He has participated in programs at Star Island and the Isle of Shoals, both in New Hamp- shire, and is now teaching Marine Biology in R.H.S. He is presently working on his Master’s Degree at the University of New Hamp- shire. Since coming to Riverhead, he has been the advisor to the class of 1971 for two years, a member of the committee for the YMCA, and the advisor to the Science Club. The creation and production of this yearbook was the result of hard work on the part of the yearbook staff and the faculty advisors. Yet, they did not mind the many hours they spent in getting the yearbook out, as the pages that follow are filled with fond memories of friends, teachers, subject classes and activities. Years from now, I am sure you will have occasion to look through this year- book. I hope it will revive thoughts of a pleasant time in your life when good friendships were formed, when the understanding of your fellow man was creat- ed, and when the desire to go out into the world and contribute to a better socie- ty was nurtured.
