Hatcher BAND parades, the Hallowe’en parade, the Santa Claus parade, and the Memorial Day parade. They gave two assembly programs this year and ap- peared willingly at many other chapel programs. Every week, certain members of the organization practice together in small groups known as en- sembles. These small groups also appear at various community functions. In the spring, the band does two things of special merit. One is the annual concert, the other the contest, which is usually held in some other school. In the latter, many students represent our school as perform- ers in solos or ensembles. 19

Music is a means of ex- pression that lasts throughout a person’s life, not just while attending school. The pupils who have played in orchestra have gained something which time cannot erase.
