Many of the world's leaders stand in reverent silence at the grave: President de Gaulle of France, center, with Emporer Haille Selassie of Ethiopia beside him, newly-elected Chancellor Erhard of West Germany behind Emporer Selassie, and scores of other dignitaries from all over the world. 2. A horse-drawn cais son carrying the flag-draped casket of the late President moves out of the Capitol plaza enroute to St. Matthews Cathedral for funeral services . 3 . Mrs . Kennedy, three-year- old John, Jr. and six-year-old Caroline standing at the White House entrance on Sunday before joining the procession in which the President's body was borne from the Executive Mansion to the Capitol 4 . An officer gives the final salute to the casket. The eternal light was lighted during the ceremony. 5 . With her daughter Caroline kneeling by her side, Mrs . John F. Kennedy kisses the casket of her husband in the rotunda of the U. S. Capitol 6. Lyndon Baines Johnson is sworn in as President of the UnitedStates ofAmerica in the cabin of the presidential plane as.Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy stands at his side. Judge Sarah T. Hughes administers the oath of office. In the back- ground are: Jack Valenti, administrative assistant to Johnson: Rep. Albert Thomas, D-Tex., Mrs. Johnson: and Rep. Jack Brooks, D-Tex. Seconds later the plane carrying the new President, the presidential party, and the body of the late President Kennedy was on its way back to Washington, D. C.
