Another of Dan Bennett ' s disturbing questions beings out that mischievous smile of Mr. Hartung ' s as the rest of the class snicker. THE EXPLOSIVES!! At last, it ' s finished, now for the grade, says Cynthia Friend. From the outer most space to the enter most earth the science pupils go to observe and study the mysteries they are to conquer. Chemistry pupils work long hours over their lab tables in class dtuing and after school. There is always excitement caused by small explosions, large pops or leaky troughs. The eightli grade pre- pare for high school science as they learn the scientific names of rocks, plants, and animals. Field trips to farms and wooded areas add to the interest of their classes. Projects such as bug, leaf and rock collections create more interest in the field of science. In these classes the pupils leam lab safety, chemical symbols pre- pare them for careers in science, medicine and life.
