PORTER AND MICHEL CONTINUE TO MAIN- STREAM STUDENTS This year, Mr. Michel and Miss Porter's main goal was to try to get the students into as many of their regular classes as possible. Mr. Michel works with stu- dents that have learning dis- abilities in areas such as spell- ing, vocabulary, and math. He helps them to understand the meaning of questions to help them on tests. Miss Porter teaches the spe- cial education students. Each student works individually at his own speed and receives individ- ual attention on whatever he is working on. Students are graded on what they have ac- complished for the quarter. Miss Porter also teaches them basic skills, english, basic math, and sex education. P.E. STRETCHES BUDGET The Physical Education de- partment suffered rom the cuts in the P.E. budget. Less variety was offered becaused of lack of new equipment. Cuts in the number of classes offered caused overcrowded classes, making supervision of classes very difhcult for teachers.
