During the semester the stu- dents undertook a Family Management packet in which the student learned how to set up a budget. In Consumer Ed. students saw many films and Hlmstrips on such subjects as credit, gyps and frauds, tax filing, balancing checkbooks, budgeting, llsmart buying procedures, as well as other basic economic topics. The students were also respon- sible for writing a book report which dealt with some aspect of consumer education. This year Mrs. Kertz invited Mr. Michael Eidson, President of the Port Byron State Bank, to speak on banking procedures and services while the class was on the banking unit. The students also covered unit pricing where Mrs. Kertz borrowed groceries from Winter's Red Fox so that the students could visually learn to calculate the price per measure. The class was very helpful in preparing students for their future role as a consumer. 20

Inter-Related was again offered this year to seniors. They received two credits for the full year-one for work and one for class The students received two separate grades. Mrs Kertz occasion ally visited the students at work and to talk to their employer. During the class time students were taught basic consumerism. They covered such topics as bank ing, how to react in interviews and undertook a Family Management project. The annual Employer!Employee Banquet was held May 13 at the Cordova Landing The students raised money for the banquet by working the con cessions at the Wrestling Sectionals STUDENTS UWORK FOR CREDIT
