The year was begun with a new agriculture teacher, lVliss Sallows. At semester, lVlr. Howard took over. One of the agri- culture department's main projects was putting the finishing touches on the new greenhouse and ag, building. ' One of the most popular agriculture classes was ag construction. The students learned about basic elec- tricity, pouring concrete and are required to submit one wood project. THODE IS WELCOMED BACK TO STAY .- ..-r..s U is One of the biggest changes in the business department was the return of Mrs. Thode from a two-year leave of absence. as She taught Shorthand, Typing I, and II, and Intro to Busi- ness. Mrs. Thode said she missed everyone, and was very happy to be back. Mrs. Park and Mrs. Thode attended meetings with the pos- sibility of turning the business department into competency- based classrooms using individualized instruction. Mrs. Tadlock said that she enjoyed teaching her accounting classes, which she said were the largest so far.

The students' work was noticed more by both the entire student body and the public. lVluch of the art students' work was displayed in the high school lobby, and some of the better works were displayed in the grade school at the lone art III student, took some of his paintings to an art show in Rockford. Ceramics was one of the most pop- ular classes. Handmade projects such as ashtrays, mugs and candle holders were displayed in the display case in the lobby. -A-fr' ..,4- M . ve?
