Drum espite obvious similarities with other schools, we valued our special activities and the qualities of groups and indivi- duals which made our educational experience unique. The diversity of backgrounds making up our student body, including native- and foreign-born as well as foreign exchange students, provided opportunities for all of us to expand our horizons and also to practice tolerance. Even within the usual academic cur- riculum, we were encouraged to develop our individual differ- ences and to display creativity. From skits in history or English to advanced computer projects, from special performances for band or chorus to original designs in art, from production of the newspaper to creative stitchery, we found countless ways to express ourselves. X Special activities also offered numerous moments for individ- ,Q uality. Warrior Week festivities and Senior Week were two nota- , ble examples. Both students and faculty dressed up, performed, and shared in the fun of the war paint contest, Faculty-Senior Talent Show, and activities such as Nerd Day. We also found different ways to make contributions to charity. Collecting money for the Mexico City tourists unable to return home after the earthquakes and participation in fund-raising for the Johnny Pars- ley Scholarship Fund were two instances. With activities such as , these, at some point during the year each Warrior moved to the beat of a different drum.
