TI-IE SCHOOL CALENDAR, 1933-1934 VVe trooped back to school. The prefects. Grace McCurdy, Mary Cowan, Marnie Austin and Mabel Stewart were appointed. Sports Day. The Senior cup was won by Grade XI., the Junior cup by Grade VII. We held our Hallowe'en party and had skits by the different grades. The House System was established and each house held its first meeting. We held our Armistice Service. Mrs. Herklots spoke on disarmament. The Junior School had an indoor sports day. The French Club was honored by a visit from Madame Zimmern. We presented Twelfth Night. a great success. A We had an outdoor I-Ilouse Party and had refreshments afterwards. We wrote our last exam and then sang carols lustily for an hour. Mr. Shaw gave us a lecture on Dr. Drummond. The Alumnae held a silver tea. The Houses received the names of York Hall. Douglas Hall and Garry Hall. We held our annual swimming meet at the Y.W.C.A. VVe celebrated Valentine's Day by having heart-shaped things for lunch. 3 The Junior School presented Alice in Wonderland, with great success. Open Day. Our parents came to see us taught. Gur basketball teams played Ruperts Land's. VV e were victorious. The Gym Display. Great excitement! Q The Senior Glee Club sang in the Festival. The Intermediate Glee Club sang in the Festival. The badminton finals were played off. Inas George won the singles and she and Mary Cowan won the doubles. Miss Gertrude Rutherford spoke to Grades X.. XI.. and XII. Arbor Day. We planted tive evergreen trees. Enthusiasm displayed by juniors over new sand-pit.
