ANN UAL STAFF The Annual Staff has worked throughout the school year compiling pictures of the year's activities in order to give you a yearbook covering the events for the school year 196 7-68. This year's book is the largest ever and it contains 1, 113 pictures. The staff sells ads and subscriptions to completely cover the cost of the yearbook-- approximately :52,500. For the first time in this school's history, the staff has designed its own cover and end sheets. The Staff is divided into 3 main areas--subscriptions, advertising, and layout fThe designing of pagesj. Staff members could sign up to work in one or any combination of the three groups. Much time, effort, and work has been put into this book--our hope is that you enjoy it! Each year the club holds bake sales, sells refreshments at the school fair, has a Christmas party, sponsors an orphan, and holds a Sweetheart Dance. For the Sweetheart Dance we choose a girl from each class to run for the title of Sweetheart Queen. During the summer four girls are chosen to attend the state FHA convention which is held at Green Lake. At the annual FHA banquet, held in the spring, our chapter mother is announced. This year our chapter mother is Mrs. Layton. Every spring new officers are elected to continue the rewarding and valuable services that the Future Home- makers of America provide for girls. ROW 1: M. LETTERM N'S CLUB The Lettermen's Club SHOULD be to provide an opportunity for boys to be a part of a club that is built around leadership, responsibilities, sportsmanship, good citizenship, and most of all pride in America's greatest heri- tages--the right to play and compete. Mere participation in the Lettermen's Club or in the athletic program will not guarantee these objectives being achieved. In fact, many boys do not always participate in sports in a manner so as to make sports a beneficial influence in their lives. These boys are interested only in crowd adoration, with school studies, policies, and athletic training regulations something to be circumvented if possible. i.i..-at AT.' 1 I jeff Alt, Vice-President Buford Olson, Sgt. at Arms Joe Zwettler, Treasurer Dan Harrington, President Ed Liegel, Secretary Howard Murphy, Advisor 97 I O 2 93 '-1 D- Z E P-1 'U IF' 14 JP 9 r- FD ST. 0 Q P-1 fD O rv O v-1 DP O'-H-lE'l1l EH ,Q -fl Greg Rock, Golf Award Dynie Mansfield, Speaker Steve Ring, Baseball v 2 WMM Varsity Cheerleaders Dan Harrington, Football an Steve Lam0nt, Albert Hail, Cross Country Tom Yanke, Wrestling Kermit Peck, Wrestling Wrestling 'xxx I ' -if 1 x X 3' 3 . 3 , ...Qs , 4' CQ. f, N, Q1 1 , -A -.J HA: 3. , .da 1-51.15 2 - it 'iii 3 ,'., Q.. v. The purpose of the library club is to learn about libraries and library service to fellow students. As related activities this year the club had an entry in the Homecoming Parade, winning a first in its category. The Library Club also planned a trip to visit a neighboring library. The projects were financed by cupcake sales and the sale of paperback books to students. ROW 1: J. Roberts, R. Wallenkamp, B. Nachreiner, C. Kraemer, D. Dischler, D. jones, R. These tasks this year have included checking student passes, charging books out and in at the circulation desk, shelving books, and supervision of the periodicals room. Library aides have a second purpose for joining the group. Many of them desire to learn about the library and the possibilities in the library profession. Classmates choose members to represent them and it is their duty to find out what the students want done and to decide what should be done so that the majority will benefit. Student Council members have a very important responsibility. They act as the link between the administration and the students. The Student Council cannot do the job alone--the students must show the desire to be represented or the organization loses its purpose. As one of their projects this year, the Student Council sold ice cream during the noon hour.
