The lndustrial Arts Club is in its third year as a chartered member of TIASA CTexas lndustrial Arts Stu- dent Associationl. Members and Mr. Allen, sponsor, have tried to involve the club in activities that will pro- mote pride in River Road and also activities that add a little color to the daily activities of the students. The activities to add color included decorating the halls for Halloween and Thanksgiving, which was done for the first time last year. The other activity in this field in- cluded the annual door decorating contest at Christmas. This was the club's third year to have the con- test. The organization had one fund-raiser before Christmas and planned more for the spring semester. Some of these pertained to promoting school spirit. Mr, Allen said, We may be step- ping out of the boundaries that most Industrial Arts Clubs stay within, but we saw a need and we went for it. We hope to continue to promote spirit and a positive attitude at River Road High School, and join with any other organization that wishes to do the same. Look for big- ger and better things from the In- dustrial Arts Club inthe future.
