River Road FFA is dedicated to the development of agricultural leadership, cooperation, and citizenship. While many organizations are only active during school months, River Road FFA is active year-round. Summers are often spent attending leadership conferences as well as selecting and caring for next year's livestock projects. The main purpose of the Future Farmers of America is to enrich and increase the educational value of the vocational agriculture program through practical experiences.

CREED CHANGE MADE AT NATIONAL MEETING: The proposed creed change was adopted during the 1986 national leadership meeting. The new creed reads: We are the Future Homemakers of America. We are members of FHA and HERO chapters. We face the future with warm courage and high hope For we have a clear consciousness of seeking old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes. Homes for America's future, Hopes where truth and love and security and faith Will be reality, not dreams. We are the Future Homemakers of America. We are members of FHA and HERO chapters. The state project committee chose five projects for this 1986-1987 school year: Students Against Drunk Driving ISADDI, Adopt-A- Highway, Feeding Hungry Americans, Student Body, and Families and Futures. FHA worked on as many state projects as possible this year. The River Road High School Rodeo Club is a member of the Tri-State High School Rodeo Association, which is composed of numerous High School Rodeo Clubs in the Tri-State Region. Throughout the year River Road Club members par- ticipated in some 25 rodeos from September through May, with finals in June.
