®ouGle Qouples %3oitt in JftoaR Padding Was this the wedding of Its time? Perhaps It would be more accurately described as a ' mock wedding of rhyme . ' Two couples, junior Sherry Holcomb, senior Gory Mathews and junior Connie Romos, senior Donnie Sims were Joined together In the make-believe wedding ceremony held In the round at 6:30 p.m. on December 10, 1961. Sponsored by the River Forest Family Living Classes, the ceremony was presented as a real wed- ding down to the lost detail, from the beginning proces- sion to the reception. At the start of the ceremony there was on air of silence os the audience waited for the procession to begin. Doth of the bride ' s fathers were there to escort their daughters up the aisle. Ending with the traditional kiss, the couples, now ' married ' , left the room to celebrate with their friends and family at the reception. Connie and Donnie reminded me of a bickering husband and wife, ” said Mrs. Pat Wilson, teacher of both family living classes, while Sherry and Gary were the typical picture of people in love .
