The back wall was decorated with a large silhouette of a couple dancing, and the words ' ' Moonlight and Roses glittered nearby. A large bird cage with two doves hung from the ceiling and paper roses could be seen every- where. Prom gifts included stick- pins for the girls and necklaces for the boys, and everyone received a souvenir booklet. Medieval Dining At Jts finest For their tenth year Mr. Drown and members of the choir presented the annual Wassail, a traditional Christmas dinner which places its guests in a medieval atmo- sphere. The Wassail features the bringing in of the Yule Log and boar ' s head and the entrances of Jeannette Isabella and Saint Lucia. This year Jeannette Isab ella was portrayed by Denise Dookhamer and Saint Lucia was portrayed by Scherry Gamble. Other highlights of the Wassail include the flag waving and the steana. The flag waving uses banners that are used in the various districts of the medieval city of Siena, Italy. The steana, which symbolizes a large star, was once carried in Romania on Christmas night by carolers singing from door to door. The dinner concluded with the serving of the flaming Wassail punch. The entire dinner officially ends with the traditional 16 th century toast, when the guests and choir join in saying, May the spirit of the Christmas story enter all of our hearts and help us to carry love and goodwill wherever we go-until Christmas comes again!
