RF player jumps high. He seems to have a gumdrop stuck in his teeth. The game concluded in June of 1974. Earlier for the seniors. Whether the year as a whole was good or bad, it was a year different from all the rest and one that would be remembered for many years to come. The RF school year 1973-74, like other experiences, was A Game We Played. Mr. Hontz eyes his players. 7

Rodney Jones Romances soared, flopped. Classes were passed. Classes were flunked. Term papers were written. Swats were given. Vacations were taken. This and more hap- pened as the game was played. Players tried to out-smart their opponents, which at times didn ' t turn out to their advantage. Some players got breaks. Other players seemed to have the deck stacked against them. Most of the participants enjoyed playing the game no matter what obstacles were in the way. A few couldn ' t wait till it ended. Rainbow Trail! Advance four spaces. Which way to Mountain Pass? I ' ll be late for Rainbow Trail. 6

Queen Rose Wojnaroski and her escort Joel Fedor. Wojnarski, Szpakowski tops October 9 RF 1973 Football Homecoming started October 5 with a float parade. The team faced North Judson Blue Jays. The game opened with the Nation- al Anthem played by the High School Band, the school song, and musical routines by the pom- pom girls. Sonja Alasevich and Rose Woj- naroski were Queen Candidates. ' Their Court included Dixie Stan- ley, junior; Julie Kipta, sopho- more; and freshman, Pam Barber. The sophomore float As- Salt the Blue Jays won the float competition. Seniors placed second with Can ' t Stop Beatin ' Em ; third were juniors with Get ' Em Before They Hatch and fourth were freshman with Blue Jays Are Stool Pigeons. Rose Wojnaroski was proclaimed 1973 Homecoming Queen. Joe Szpakowski was elected Mr. Football by his teammates. In- gots lost, and Student Council sponsored an after game dance. t
