Week misses goal Charity Week, sponsored by the River Forest Student Council, fell short of their monetary goal this year. Only $88.00 was earned. During the week of events, March 29 through April 2, class jesters donated their services for a small fee. Services, included sitting in wastebaskets, kissing teachers and roosting on various filing cabinets. Five jesters were selected from underclassmen only this year. Junior high students also partici- pated. Every day the jester dressed in a different costume to solicit money for charity. Hat day honors, which was a part of the week ' s agenda, went to Lavatta Martin, freshman. Loyce Welton, junior, collected the most money in the high school and Dan Waldrop collected the most for the junior high. Climaxing the week was a dance in the high school gym during which the Poppy, a rock group from the Odysey Media of Chicago, performed. Money earned from Charity week was donated to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana. Right— Modeling Barb Mills ' hat, Joe Wojnarski, junior, kicks the habit on Hat Day. Thomas, Leonard reign Seniors Kim Thomas and Den- nis Leonard were crowned king and queen of the 1971 junior- senior class prom. Music was provided by the Del Rene Orchestra and other stage performances were given by local RF students. Over the Rainbow, the theme of the prom, boasted several unusual decorations. A large rainbow constructed of pastel carnations, arched over the dance floor of the Serbian Hall, the location of the dance. Signs of the zodiac appeared on the wall-size zodiac wheel, also constructed in pastel shades. Other signs of the zodiac hung from the ceiling. Post-prom activities were held in Valparaiso at Wheelman ' s Bridgeview Theater. Possum River, a rock band from Chicago, provided dancing music. A smorgasbord meal was served during the evening. Approximately 125 couples attended the prom and post-prom. Below Left-Cathy Cerajeski, sophomore and Al Easton, senior, perform during orchestra breaks for those attending the prom.
