The highest honor that can be bestowed on a high school student is membership in the National Honor Society. Service, scholarship, worthy leadership, and high character are objectives of each chapter and attributes of each member. Under the able leadership of President Carl Eckhardt, the Honor Society carried out numerous projects which served our community and school. Honor Society members monitored the library during noon hour, provided a baby sitting service during elections, and purchased a new band uniform. These projects strengthened the individual character of each member and the morale of our high school. 63
