JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY As we look back now on our freshman year, we remember candy sales and bake sales to start our account with. Oflicers that year were President, Sheila Winn, Vice-President, Matt Morris, Secretary, Lisa Girdeng and Treasurer, Jeff Ferguson. Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Desjarlais helped us get off our feet, and we don't know what we would have done without them! We adopted a foster child, Nestor, from the Phillipines during our freshman year. We send him money every month, and we always get letters from him in return. The year ended with a very successful trip to Playland, and we started thinking about being sophomores . . . Gina Geter was elected President in September, Vice-President was Jeff Ferguson, Secretary, Jill Rainone, and Treasurer, Betsy Frank. Letters were still coming from Nestor, and we started planning new activities right away. We began with food galore: doughnuts were sold during lunch, and bagels were the thing before school started. Next we turned into message board dealers and really worked hard in order to dispense them all. Before the end of the year we had organized a Sophomore Bus to an away basketball game, ordered our cherished high school rings, and went to Riverside Park to say good-bye to a wonderful tenth grade year. Our busy junior year started with the selling of coffee and doughnuts to the Adult Education group. Oliicers were President, Sue Hineg Vice-President, Gina Geter, Secretary, Diane Hoehlerg Treasurer, Jane Feldman, and Historian, Jill Rainone. We sponsored the successful three one-acts: The Lottery, The Good Doctor, and The Honeymooners. Then a tag sale in December got rid of lots of old remnants ranging from Osmond records to '73 World Series pennants. Choosing partners for the Sadie Hawkins Dance was lots of fun, and the remainder of the spring was focused on the magical Prom. May came and with it were the joys of driving to the Big Dance in Dad's new car. Almost everyone had their licenses, and who could forget seeing The All-Denim Kidn in a TUXEDO. Long dresses, long-smelling corsages, and long looks were the best things at the Prom, and it was over before you knew it. The yearbooks and iinal exams bring us to the end of our third year at Ripp, and it's hard to believe that the very best is still yet to come. :Le r. f if 85
