The class has decided to forsake the traditional graduation garb of green and white robes for the Bicentennial colors. We have started working on Riptide '76 and prom committees have already been formed. We are also planning a Kick-Off Dance for October. Time swiftly flees from each of us. October 4, 1975 Dear Diary, The Kick-Off Dance was a tremendous success. The turnout was overwhelming and everyone appreciated Clean Slate. The dance helped solidify the spirit of concern and unity which will be so essential for the remainder of the year. November 30, 1975 Dear Diary, The class is again relying on an old friend, doughnuts We are also planning the Homecoming spectacle. This is the first year the Senior Class has sponsored this event. It's strange to think that next year it will be for us. With Thanksgiving over I can now look forward to my Christmas vacation. It's my last one as a Warrior. The climax is quickly approaching for all of us. January 25, 1976 Dear Diary, The Senior Class Play was dynamite. I'm being so rushed. Mid-terms were last week and I already have two assignments to complete before March. I don't know where I'll find the time. I'm being worked to the bitter end. I guess there is no respect among teachers for the senior citizens of Rip. March 29, 1976 Dear Diary, The first warm day of Spring has caused me to drift mindlessly through the week. Winter has been such a cage. The spiritual release helps me traverse the abyss between Christmas and Spring vacation. I feel the advent of an early Senior Slump, which I can't afford. But it feels sooooo good. April 27, 1976 Dear Diary, Prom time is quickly descending upon me. More deadlines, commitments, appointments, and responsibilities are mounting. It seems that there is no respite from the drudgery. The promise of Spring has faded with cold, wet weather. Rip's fields are turning into a wetlands preserve for water fowl and gulls. If it continues, we may need Charon to ferry us across the marsh.

April 16, 1975 Dear Diary, We had a Ski and Skate sale today. It was a great success, due exclusively to the organizational talents of Laura Mann and Adrienne Harper. Imagination and originality were bred from within our own ranks. There is a special pride involved when you can pull off this type of activity. May 10, 1975 Dear Diary, We sponsored a gymnastic show. Fantastic. A lot of planning went into this event. but our real etfort is being concentrated on our Junior Prom. This is what we have been pointing toward for the entire year. May 16, 1975 Dear Diary, The Junior Prom was so terrific. Kids I've known and worked with suddenly looked different - grown-up, mature. Dancing in the Moonlight was brought to us by The Soul Musicians. Anyone who was there will not forget Ease on Down the Road. I wonder where all those Howers came from? June 15, 1975 tual Dear Diary, It was a super year and next year will be even better. We elected our oflicers now so we will be already organized in September. Mike Carmine is Presidentg Jon Shepard is Vice Presidentg Leslie Sayer is Secretaryg and Sharon Wolfsohn is Treasurer. Each student is getting his yearbook and graduation picture taken now. We will be having a colored Senior Section in Riptide '76. This will be a Rip first. The Spirit of '76 rolls on! 1 t 1 1 I. we 'ii fa ' l e - A V , . V V. V ,tt -VVV 1 4, .t 3 W-.VV ,x . May 25, 1976 Dear Diary, My Senior Prom has come. It's strange to see all of us now and to remember how we were in September of '72. The Italian Center was exquisitely decorated and the food was just unbelievable. Thereis just one more main event. The final exams I've learned to handle, but I don't know how I'm going to handle graduation. June 12, 1976 Dear Diary, It's all over. I've graduated. Four years of high school are behind me. I will never be able to reclaim them, but I will always be able to recall them. Hundreds of memories flood my senses. Some memories are very intimate and others are shared by many. I have been part of a family to which I may never return. I will be united in spirit, but physical proximity is all in the past. Our pride resides in our accomplishments, our legacy is found in our unity and cooperation, and my memories lie in my diary. .....-.5
