SENIOR CLASS HISTORY September 9, 1972 Dear Diary, I'm so excited! Freshman in high school. Rip's so big and all those rooms! Got lost before each period. At least I know some kids. Mrs. Schwartz and Mr. Byrnes will be with us for the next four years. Four years. Wow! What an eternity. I guess we'll be having elections soon. Hope our advisors CSchwartz and Byrnesl will be easy to work with. I don't know what lies ahead. October 10, 1972 Dear Diary, We've already had our elections. President is Betty D'Andreag V.P. is Kiki Gershmang Alana LaBella is our Secretary, and Annette Wexler is our Treasurer. At our first class meeting our advisors stressed the spirit of co-operation and class unity. They also spoke about something called a 1egacy',. Ilm not too sure what it means, but I don't think anyone else knows what it means either. Already teachers are telling me to plan for everything. What that comes down to as far as class activities are concerned is that if we want anything, we had better be able to pay for it. November 6, 1972 Dear Diary, Had our first bake sale today. Cakes, cookies, and brownies were stored in the English Office. Our officers organized this sale. It took place 5th period in the cafe. We made alot of money. I guess we're off to a good start. Welre starting to build a legacy of how to make money. December 20, 1972 Dear Diary, Report cards have already come out once and we're already into the second quarter. Everyone is looking forward to the Christmas vacation. Never had to do homework over Christmas before. That really upsets me. What kind of a vacation is it? Teachers tell me to use the time wisely and prepare for my mid-term exams. I don't know what these are either, but I bet theylre terrible. A listing of top ten songs was put out by WABC - Brandy, American Pie, etc. February 23, 1973 Dear Diary, Exams have come and gone. A bad scene. We're doing great with selling doughnuts in the cafe. We still store them in the English Office. I'm not so sure we take out of there the same number period i?5 that we bring in there before school. However, we still sell all that we bring down to the cafe. The kids buy everything in sight. There is NO lunch program here. What an easy way for us to make money. We're saving it so we can take a class trip in June. They told us to plan!! April 4, 1973 Dear Diary, Great planning! Had our first car wash today. It felt like it was 20 degrees below zero. What a cold I got! May 10, 1973 Dear Diary, Another great planned day. Had another doughnut sale, except no one knew about it. We're stuck with seven dozen doughnuts. They won't get stale too quickly, will they? We have to unload them somehow. June 18, 1973 Dear Diary, Class trip today. Two bus loads went to Pinecrest C.C. but no one was there to meet us. Had to clean the pool out ourselves but had a great time. Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, watermelon, and soda. All you could eat. Super! Exams are over. I'm a 10th grader. Great ending for my Freshman year.

September 15, 1973 Dear Diary, Moving upward now. I'm a sophomore. The school doesn't seem so big anymore but the seniors still do. I remember the summer with Touch Me In The Morning and Diamond Girlf' But back to the books. October 13, 1973 Dear Diary, The four M's won the election for the sophomore class oiflcers. Kevin Martinek is president, Maureen McGrath is V.P. Our secretary is Laura Miller and Margaret Murphy is our treasurer. I'm looking forward to a great year. December 15, 1973 Dear Diary, Another super bake sale! Our treasury is lookin, good. There's a special feeling developing among all of us. I can't describe it. I only know it's there. It's a lot like electricity. You really cant see it but you sure see its results. February 3, 1974 Dear Diary, Welre giving up on bake sales and are looking for some other hot item. Someone suggested candy bars. I'll do my part, but I stop when my face breaks out in pimples. Our class officers and advisors met with a rep from Jostens Ring Company. I'm really high because I'll be able to have my class ring before the end of this school year. April 7, 1974 Dear Diary, The class adopted a foster child today - Kimberly Block. Three hundred eighteen 10th graders are a lot of Hparentsl' to have. The candy sale is going great, but I'm getting a little sick of eating a bar each day before 3rd period. May 4, 1974 Dear Diary, Pickles? That's what we're into now. We're selling them in the cafe. We must have the only kosher cafe in the city. I got my class ring today. I finally look good in green. It's so shiny. I wonder what it will mean to me in two years. This one's almost gone. June 23, 1974 Dear Diary, It's half over! Soph finals have come and gone. We are knowledgeable in our loss of innocence, in a very literary sense. Welve gone through crumbs on the mouth, acne on the face, and garlic on the breath. Next year Illl be an upper classman. I don't know if thatlll be good or bad, but I think it will be fun.
