I 3 2 I I g L Richard L. Wade 2 i if 'ft ' Headmaster My first year at Rippowam Cisqua School has been an exciting, challenging one for me. Last summer I came with impressions ofa school at which a sense of care for people permeated a strong academic program. I have not been disappointed. Throughout the entire school, I see parents who are in- volved in the life ofthe school and who value high quality education. I see teachers who genuinely enjoy children, who are self-critical about their own teaching, and who value achievement and hard work. I see students who enjoy each other Qand the teachers tooj, who recognize the importance ofajob well done, and who are proud oftheir school. That's not to say there are no problems or that there is nothing to improveg it'sjust to say that from a new- comer's point of view, we have a school to be proud of. May the next ten years bring continued growth as we continue to pursue excellence. , L 2fHeadmaster

wir i Waldo B. Jones Head of Lower School It is hard to believe that in ten short years we have established such a strong sense of identity in the Lower School. There are so many events which have become Cisqua traditions. Such things as: poetry at lunch, a class play for each child, the Spring picnic, Book and Science Fairs, Grandparents' Visiting Day, the C.O.P.E., the Fourth Grade CAmping Trip, Assemblies and One of the World's Largest Tooth Collections . . . create a school with a very special spirit. There is no place in the world I'd rather be. Alice L. Welsch Head of Middle School 1984 is an anniversary year for RCS and a celebration year for me. This year's graduating seniors were sixth graders during my first year as Head of the Middle School. Each student remains an intimate memory - an individual abounding in energy, groping to discover the answer to the question Who am I? Each has grown physically and emtoionally, to his own credit and to the credit of the supportive and caring education- al environment of this extraordinary school. I am proud to be part of it. Thomas M. Sydorick Head of Upper School l984 marks my tenth anniversary as well as Rippowam Cisqua's. My life in the past decade has had variety beyond the school, but its dimensions within the school have always been those of pleasure, fond memory, and satisfaction. The school has grown, my daughters have grown, and I have grown during these years. The school and its people - colleagues and students - have been a source of reward, warmth, kindness and grist for growth. Being with the young and watching them grow keeps me young and helps me grow. Division Heads 1 3
