X ' . ab Olympics of the Mind is an activity which lets students expand their thinking skills by performing certain mind-boggling tasks. Each year five problems are distributed nationwide. Olympics teams work for several months to plan, write, and perform solutions to the problems. This year Rippowam went to a competition in Eastchester to perform Chariots of Rescue. Our team built a foot-powered vehicle which had to be maneuvered in a series of rescue tasks before it was driven in a chariot race. Six students wrote an original script which portrayed the dramatic rescue ofjunk food, an endangered species. Rippowam's team placed first among eight private and public high schools in Westchester-Putnam and qualified for the New York State championships in April. Olympiansfi0l
