Browning 99 llltla fifty L Never Never Land is a region of the mind. It is that part of your mind that retains all your most foolish and frivolous dreams that have formulated. The part of you that never grows up--but rc- mains gay, innocent and heartless. All Never Never Lands vary. One could be all wrapped up in your first star, or wild grass, stmshine and barefoot children or just being able to do one thing better than anyone else. Of all the delectable islands the Never Land is the snuggest and most compactg not large and sprawly, you know, with tedious distances between one adventure and another, but nicely crammed. High School is like a Never Never Land in reality, It is where dreams can be realized and though about. Your last chance to be young---and get away with it, Where you can be anything you like be- fore life forces you to take a particular path, When you leave, suddenly responsibility sweeps you up and you alone must face the world-- you'll look back and wonder how you could ever have done all those gay, innocent, heartless ad- ventures. . . but wasn't it fun, , , in Never Never Land, The staff, therefore, would like you to keep all of this in mind as you pass through these pages, who knows, we might meet on some magic shore. J UNIORS Like the pages of old the main job of the juniors is to see that the major events get done. They are responsible for keeping things in order and making old traditions like the Prom and Homecoming differ- ent and new because of an imaginative twist. Their year is a frantic one with much to do besides what seems like an over-abundance of homework, They manage to get it all done and even recuperate enough to look back and think of it as one of their happiest and busiest years. SENIORS Three years of cramming for exams, confu- sion, meeting deadlines, and sweating out al- most getting caught makes the Seniors the rightful rulers of the Student Body. Once Seniority is achieved they spend the rest of the time enjoying it and making the un- derclassmen believe it. The senior year is notoriously known as a goof-off year. But Seniors can tell you that it also involves two required courses and plan- ning a future. Theirs is an unforgettable year with growing up to do and many changes. Junior Class Officers: fl-rj John Dentler, Vice-President, Elaine - Van Wyk,Sec. , Treasurer, Nadeen Ruiz, Activity Chairman, Charlie Kintcher , President. SOPHOMORES As servants of yesteryear, the sophomores too must bend to the will of their masters . . . upper- classmen and teachers alike, But they are also enslaved to much homework because the sopho- more year is noted for being the hardest if not most educational year in high school, With many required classes it is a test of true stamina and will power. Those who meet the challenge show up on honor roll, Sophomore Class Officers: fl-rj Kim Johnston, Activity Chairman, Robin Douma President, Chuck Rivara, Vice-President, Allyn Wood, Secretary. Freshmen Class Officers: fl-rj Rick Atwell, Vice-President, Martha Gavine, Activity Chairman, Tina Thompson, Secretary, Barry Kincaid, President. F RESHMEN Freshmen occupy the lowest posi- tion in the high school realm, which seldom escapes their minds as they are harassed and teased about it, all year 'round, The smart freshman uses this to his advantage and can get away with anything with the ex- cuse But I'm just a freshman . . . Their year is one of adjustment and excitement since high school life is still new and different. As she walks out on what seem like rubber legs, she must perform a routine of her own before the entire student body. The lucky girls chosen have a big job ahead of them. It begins with attending camp where they learn new cheers, charge up with ideas to inspire spirit. . . and what a sore body feels like. During the summer they also select and pay for their new outfits. If this doesn't sound like any big deal, try deciding on one outfit that will please four to six girls ! When the school year begins so does practice. Every week! The girls also attend and participate in all Rallies, cheer for football and basketball games, make countless signs, badges, and favors for our boys and even get a little homework done on the side.
