lesbain fion Dear Mr . Martinez, It may seem rather strange to some that We should dedicate the Mission to a teacher who has left Ripon High, but to those of us still here, you haven't really left. Before you taught at Ripon High, nothing was known of the institutions of Home- coming parades, Queen, or the Model U.N . You started all of these things, and they will forever remain a part of Ripon High. For these we are all greatly in- debted to you . But more important than your creation of these activities is the memory of the interest and enthusiasm you showed for each and every student . As a teacher you were the greatest, and as an advisor, tops . This year's Mission, we hope, will symbolize our feeling of affection and pride for you, our Mr. Wonderful. CLASS OF '62 2 DMINISTRATION L I A Principal Gereau PRINCIPAFS MESSAGE To conquer space so that man may be freed from his ties to earth will be mag- nificent achievement . We have little doubt that this Will come to pass, and that it Will help to change the conditions of living in our universe . We 'll eulogize with glowing terms the men and Women who lead our World in this great enter- prise . On the other hand, how many billions of man-hours and just how many dollars will We put into our long-neglected duty to improve conditions on this World? The education of 1000 public high school Stu- dents for a full year costs less than one modern fighter plane! Should even a few of the nations of the World pour reasonable percentages of their resources into such things as pre- venting the need for prisons and the de- velopment of preventive medicine, this would be a far better World, with less disease, famine, and social injustice, and also With more real progress . This is a challenge to everyone, es- pecially to the graduates of the CLASS OF 1962 . We look to you for hard work and positive thinking to help bring about peaceful progress in our universe . We know you Won't let us down. BOARD 0E TRUSTEES H N Anderson, Clerk, Dr. James, J. Benn, Vice-President, A. J. Weststeyn, President, I. R. Ruiz, E. A. Phippen.
