The organization was founded in 1917 by The first semester officers were Robert Cabral, President, Glenn Vincelet, Vice President, Frank Franzia, Secretary, John Zumstein, Treasurer, Arnold DeWeerd, Reporter, and Jim Brown, Sentinel. The second semester officers were Glenn Vincelet, President, Frank Brown, Vice President, Frank Franzia, Secretary, John Zumstein, Treasurer, Oscar McGee, Reporter, and Lawrence George, Sentinel. The junior and senior 'faggiesi' took a co-op quiz at the beginning of the year. They also put on a safety demonstration for the Parent-Teachers Association. The safety team also entered the State Safety Competition Contest. Judging teams in dairy, poultry, farm mechanics, trees, and livestock were busy in competitive contests. Judging contests were held at Lodi, March 27, Davis, April 23, San Luis Obispo, May 8g and the state contest at San Luis Obispo. The annual Holt Brothers, tool chest-award was presented to the outstanding senior boy' in farm shop and agriculture. The annual Bankers' Certificate was also awarded to a graduating senior aggie. Some of the organization's objectives are ill to work for a good home and family life, C21 to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership, Q35 to provide wholesome individual and group recreation, and C41 to promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfactions of homemaking. The Homemakers began this yearfs activities by selling milk at noon to cover financial expenses. Other activities were a dance and a cake sale. ln November, delegates were sent to the F.H.A. state convention held at Asilomar, California. The representatives, Joanne De Weerd, Ellen Fredericksen, Marcella Rice and June Vanden Heuvel, learned about meeting procedure and received many helpful suggestions. The officers for the first semester were Ellen Fredericksen, President, Joanne De Weerd, Vice President, Jerie Jorgensen, Secretary, Delores Silva, Treasurer, Arline Ostini, Historian, and Harriet Winters, Parliamentarian. The second semester officers were Arline Ostini, President, Jerie Jorgensen, Vice President, Joanne De Weerd, Secretary, Marcella Rice, Treasurer, Joellen Franzia, Historian, and Freda Rasmussen, Parliamentarian.
