STUDENT GOVERNMENT Student government tor the year '49-'50 was successtully handled by Student Body President Charles Franzia. The cabinet included the tollowing: Leatrice Knopt, vice-president: Carol Poynor, secretary ot state and publicity: Dolores Gomes, secre- tary ot records: Alden Houbein, secretary ot entertainment: Pansy Gregory, secretary ot publications: Loren Kincaid, secretary ot Labor, Veronica Mulholand, attorney-general: Frank Jacklich, chiet iusticeg Tex Yarber and Sherman Rogers. chiets ot police. Many things were done this year that had not been done in the past tour years. The president vetoed several bills in Congress, and the school joined the Calitornia Association ot Student Councils. One ot the most important bills presented in Soggress provided tor a change in court procedure. This was deteated atter a hot e ate. Several cabinet meetings were held during the year. Co-operation was the by- word tor these meetings, and as a result the school has had a most successful year.
