In fact Coach Tarantino's hoopsters were in almost every game until the final buzzer. Many members of the J. V. five showed signs of good potential. Future varsity candidates include guards Jim Davis and Boyd Stephens, forwards Mike Gallagher and Tom Jones and Center Mike Madigan. Also guard Greg Russo should be noted. Sophomore Tom Jones pumps in iumper against All-C.A.L. Honorable Mention Boyd Stephens discovers St. Elizabeth. weakness in Mustang defense. Gallagher and Maxwell look on as Jones hits two. Even though they were unable to participate in a league the Frosh toppled such C.A.L. schools as Bellarmine, St. Mary's, and Serra. The Frosh five, coached by Andy Quintana and Syl Mendoza, had a well-balanced of- fensive and defensive attack with fine per- formances registered by defensive-minded Mike Dowdle and Mark Alimisis and the all around playing of Tom Kurpinsky, Todd Bec- caria, and John Lusardi.
