1961 Cross-Country varsity, left to right: M. Uland, J. Lavis, M Conroy, L. Bartleson, M. White, G. Iviazotti, W. Maffer, L. LaRocco. Led by Seniors Mike White and Dan Dowd, the cross-country team went through a season of four wins and one loss in dual meets. Mike White was named outstanding rtuiner of the year. But plagued by injuries, the team took fifth place in the C.A.L. meet in Stanford. The outstanding performance this year came from the Frosh-Soph team which Won the C.A.L. championship. Many of the team members ran for the varsity in the dual meets and gained valuable experience in doing so. This was the fourth cross-country championship for Riordan.
