100 T The Crowning oment Queen Anna reigns over Night Rally festivities. Her court consists of, left to right: Rita Reves Donna Unmat, Eileen jones, Nancy Driscoll, Betty Ebert, Vondra Barsotti, and Kathy Brady. lt was a night filled With great expectancy, Wonderful color, and beautiful pageantry. These superlatives describe this year's annual Night Ral- ly. This night will be a memorable one in the lives of each of the candidates from the eight girls' high schools. The actual program was enlivened by the com- ments of Mr. Bob St. Clair of the 49ers. Repre- senting the team, Coach Ron Modeste and co-cap- tains Karl Aichinger and Bill Ardizoia gave their views on the Homecoming Game with the Serra Padres. The Night Rally was concluded by the announce- ment of the l96l Homecoming Queen, Miss Anna Ruef of Star of the Sea Academy. Miss Ruef joins a long list of Riordan Homecoming Queens known for their beauty and unassuming dignity. l Af , 'Y

-M15 f Ayga A t S :WW ln the middle of a heavy downpour in mid- November, two hundred Crusaders yelled as loud as they could for their football team. But if it were not for the actions of one individual, those Crusaders would probably have sought protection. That person was Gene Muscat. lir tri 1 With high optimism for a successful sea- son, the crowds at the first few football games were great. But as the capabilities for a suc- cessful season diminished, Gene, through his personal initiative, saw to it that crowds never diminished. ln fact they often increased. From football to basketball, Gene kept the 54 spirit kindled in the student body. Every game G had Crusader support. It was truly evident- when all hopes of the playoff were lost, in the V.,, W we support the Crusaders gave to their team.
