Wd? Coach Albert Lavin, James Kilgariff, James Otis, John Galten, Ronald McGee, William Beasley, Joseph Chiamparino. Brother Elmer Dunsky, Arthur Kiesel. FRONT ROW: Ronald Macaluso, Albert Martin, Garry Stagnaro, Daniel Clifford, George Mellinger, William Whalen, Daniel Brogan. Basketball enioyed its finest season in the history of Riordan this year. The varsity with a 22-9 record had the most wins ever gained by a Riordan five. Their 12-4 record gave them third place in the C.A.L. If it were not for two upsets at the hands of Marin Catholic the club would have surely finished first. This was a hustling group that never knew the word quit. Captain Ronald McGee who was one of the better players in the area, received many individual awards including All City, All C.A.L. and All Catholic and All Metropolitan. Highlights of the season were 7 victories over AAA teams and two smashing triumphs over league champion St. Mary's. Such a season was most gratifying to Coach Albert Lavin in his first year as head coach. This is a team that the students and all concerned can be proud. It worked hard and produced the best basketball Riordan has ever seen. This team had laid the foundation for future basketball teams at Riordan.
