2 IIEFENIIING CHAMP. Only the future knows whether or not Riordan will retain its coveted C .A. L. Baseball Championship. This appears to be a most arduous task for Coach Visco Grgich and his inexperienced charges. Only two starters remain from last year's champion- ship squad, third-baseman Vern Waligora, and outfielder Vince Quinn. With sucha small nucleus as this,Coach Grgichwill fielda team that real- izes what it is up against, a team that knows it must make up in desire and team play, what it lacks in balance. However, in league games so far, the Crusaders have beaten Favorite Serra 7-5, and St. Elizabeth's ll-8, while losing to Bishop O'Dowd 7-3- With such an encouraging start, the Crusaders may once again bring home to Riordan a C.A.
