This was the most important game for the Crusaders so far for if Riordan could win this one, it would mean the Serra-Riordan game would decide the C.A.L. champion. St. Mary's kicked off, but the Crusaders quickly fumbled the ball away. From that moment Riordan was ina hole from which itnever broke out. Good punting by the Panthers aided to Riordan's plight. Both teams staged a great defensive show, not allowing either offense to move. However, iust before the half, St. Mary's moved into field goal position and Jim Clark rose to the occasion. During the second half the defensive battle raged, and a series of breaks kept Riordan in its own territory. Final score ...... St. Mary's 3, Riordan 0. I

Our Junior Varsity showed lots of fight and a never-say-die attitude even when behind. They had good depth and were a well balanced squad, which is essential to a good team. The offense showed great power and usually was able to sustain a drive. Only the scoring punch was lacking. Many varsity prospects showed their ability this year under Mr. Clark. Among them are: capt., Mike Carson, quarterbackg Charles Actis, endg Bob Roper, halfg and Bob Kennealy, a smashing tackle. N
