ADMlRAUi iESSAGE Another year passes too quickly, a year filled with world progress, and we, the administration and faculty, hope, school progress, The students at Rio Vista joint Union High School have advanced academically and socially. This advancement is evident upon studying our records and testing program. Our graduates of the classes of l9Af8 and 19,19 have been able to fit themselves into chosen fields. We are especially proud of the splendid record made by the members of the class of 1948 at the University of California. This fine group of students brought to our high school the distinction of having ac- cumulated the highest grade-point average for college freshman coming to the University from schools of our size. A well done should be given our Board of Trustees on their far- sightedness in our present building program. They are building to the future through a planned financial program, as a result, the money for this construction is in our building fund. To our graduates, the Class of 1950, fsmooth sailing and success. Your friends here at Rio High, administrators and faculty, are interested in your future, as we were during your four years of schooling. If we can help, call on us. and we may be able to lend a helping hand. Cliiaaiazs R. HAH: lDi.i'lricl Slffwrmlwztlwzl VICE ADMIRAL Ship ahoy Class of 19503 Congratulations on being so near the end of the cruise with the PORT O' CQOMMENCl2MliNT in sight. lt would be indeed a very unusual ocean going cruise of four years that did not encounter some foul weather and high seas. Likewise, our four year trip met with a few disappointments. Some of our crew members went over the side to other schools, we lost a few en- counters at the battle stations in athletics, all passengers did not achieve brilliant scores in the deck class activities, but all have memories of the four best years of our lives in exploring new ports over the horizon, and in weighing anchor with new and lasting friendships.
