WHA ' ,league n May, 1941, the old otiicers of the C-iris, League retired and the new of- ticers, Mary' Louise Borha, Irene Souza, Verna Azevedo, and Norma Herin- ger were installed. Many of the giris, mothers were present to witness this impressive ceremony. This fait twiss Church, the Girls, League Adviser: Norma Heringer, Representative: and Mary Louise Borha, President, attended a convention in Berkeley. They reported stimutating talks and came home with a numher of ideas for expanding our own program. At Christmas time the Girls, League gave a merchandise order to a needy family. Later in the year the girls produced something novet in entertain- ment in the form of a variety show. This may he the foundation of a school tradition. Besides these activities, the Girts, League also Financed the upholster- ing of the fumiture in the Cwiris' Room. This work was ahiy done hy Miss Churchs art ctasses. 501,41 Zeagae ll the memhers of the Boys, League participated in the activities of their organization to a greater extent than ever hefore. This year they spon- sored the following activities: foothait trips to the University of California and to Stanford University, interctass track and interctass haskethait, the father and son hanquet, and an assemhiy given for the entire school. The chairmen of the committees which ran these activities so wen were: Track, Richard Cavagnarog Baskethau, Donald Campheit: Father and Son Banquet, Wiyron Foord: Assembly, George Gordon. The Boys, League also hought a ptaque on which will he engraved the names of the winning classes of hoth the interciass haskethatt and track for each year. This year the ciass of Hqiu had the honor of heing hrst hy win- ning hoth the haskethait and track contests. . The oflicers of the Boys, League were: Clarence Marteniano, President: Edward Anderson, Vice-president, Myron Foord, Secretary-Treasurerg and Mikie Toyoto, Representative. i293
