Mark M A R C H I N G T I G E R B A N D The 1980 Marching Tigers’ season was marred with the devastating loss of its director. Mr Batson, who died of a heart attack early in the season. The shock of losing him af- fected the band in many ways. It created a fighting spirit as well as a desire among the members to do their best. Under the direction of Mr. Doug Gordon, the band gave its best during the season and pro- ceeded to bring home a superior rating. This was the first ever won by our band. We arc proud of our band, its accomplishments and its representation of Ringgold High RIDLEY TV SALES AND SERVICE DISCOUNT FURNITURE APPLIANCES, AND ZENITH TV RALPH WHITE ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC. What about living in a community where everyone did his own thing and no one was held accountable for his actions? What if everyone took the path of least resistance or the easy way out? Life is not like this, and God in his infinite wisdom decided that each of us would have our problems and our burdens to bear. A person’s character and a major measurement of his success are determined by how he as an individual faces the crises in his life. The primary lesson we need to learn is that we cannot live an isolated life but are dependent upon many people, some with whom we are well-acquainted and others whom we will never see. It is my hope that each of you will face a minimum of difficulty after you leave R.H.S. and that God will grant you the wisdom and courage necessary to take your place in the community in which you live. And while the year draws to an end. We seek to honor a special friend. This year we've picked a gentle soul Who spent her time helping us set goals.
