The biggest reason more schools were not interested this year was because of not having a coach to take interest in weight lifting and not having enough free weights. We have about 30 young men on our team, and we are very pleased with the spirit and enthusiasm shown Most work very hard, and it is beginning to show, both in an increase in the amount of weight they can now lift and also in the definition of body muscles. This is a sport that any athlete, or anyone interested in weight lifting, can participate in as long as he can abide by the rules governing all our athletes. Our record was 3 wins and three losses. We feel that weight lifting in the off-season will now be more fun. and that more people will participate in making themselves stron- ger This is necessary if we expect to win con- sistently in our region and state. I have come to realize in the last few years that the only constant thing in life is change. We have witnessed many changes this year in our school, our community, and our nation. If you can prepare yourself to adapt to changes whenever they occur, then you can insure your success. But in order to do this, you must be the type of person who can give as well as take for no one is always right or always wrong. Each one should develop his goals in life after having given careful consideration to the price he is willing to pay to achieve what he feels is important. Never let anyone mislead you. The years that lie ahead of you will be more difficult than anything you have faced so far, and the easiest way out for anyone is to give up and quit. The greatest and most long-lasting satisfaction will not be the money you earn or the status you attain. Instead, it will be the knowledge that you were able to succeed, in spile of the odds you faced. God bless you each day of your lives and be happy. r RINGGOLD AUTO PARTS 502 W. We have had our rough deadlines, but we have managed to survive them all. The staff this year has been a very hard- working group. They have come up with a lot of original ideas, and you will sec many things in this book that have not been used in years past. We would like to tell them how much we appreciate their work because without them this book would have been impossible. Wc would like to thank all of the patrons who supported us by buying ads in our book. Melinda McNish for writing our poems. Jim Jolley and Barry Gilley for taking our pictures. Marv Martin for being patient with us. and of course “Mrs. A for helping and understanding us throughout the year. Wc hope that all of you enjoy looking at the book as much as wc enjoyed putting it together and that it will remind you of many happy memories for years to come.
