They were runners-up in the sub-region tourna- ment and gained a trip to the Region 7AA tournament. The most notable fact about this years Tigers is that they only had one senior, David Moss, on the entire squad and only had 3 experienced varsity player coming into this year. Playing most of the year were Henderson, Pitts, Adams, Harris, Taylor, Yates, and Moss. Captain David Moss led the team in almost every statistical catagory, as he was one of the most sought af- ter college prospects in the entire state, including player of the Year” on the All-Tri-State team. The 1972-1973 Ringgold Tigers basketball team was a pleasant surprise to everyone. They were only one win away from a trip to the state tournament. ' Michael Henderson Dennis Mason Ken Pitts 47 Jerry Hinton Mike Shields Chuck Jay Pete Sponberger 48 1972-1973 TIGERETTES The Ringgold Tigerettes, Coached by Danny Mills and Linda Tucker (left), again proved to be one of the finest basketball teams in the area with a fine 16-7 record despite having only two seniors off-the rooster. The Tigerettes playing in their sub- region streaked a 11-1 region record, and a 15-4 regular season record. Seniors Grade Adams and Denise Duvall gave the team fine leadership and they will be greatly missed next season. Ju- nior Wanda Green was selected first team All-Tri State and Denise Duvall was given honorable mention. Ringgold High School should be very proud of the 1972-1973 Tigerettes. 4 B-TEAMS 53 54 WRESTLING TEAM This years wrestling season was suppose to have been a re- building one for Ringgold’s wrestling team. With 1 freshman, 6 sophomores, 3 juniors, and only 2 seniors, coaches Johnson and Kellerhalls were hoping for a 6-6 season. Instead the young, inexperienced wrestlers worked hard and bettered the previous years 6-3-3 record and won 8 lost 3, and tied 1. The Ti- gers were led by senior David Birchett, junior Dale Newman, and sophomore Bobby Grant. These three led the Tigers grap- plers to a second place finish in the sub region and a seventh place finish in the state. Grant and Newman finished second in the state meet in Atlanta. 54 Student Council 58 OFFICERS Beta Club U OFFICERS 59 Literary Club AO OFFICERS FHA 61 OFFICERS 62 OFFICERS Art Club OFFICERS Alpha Tri-Hi-Y 64 OFFICERS FBLA 67 OFFICERS Bible History Club OFFICERS 68 Paper Staff 69 FFA 70 R-Club 71 Interact Club Chess Club Office Workers 72 73 % V Millie Williams Rodney North MOST POPULAR Denise Duvall Randy Cochran BEST ALL AROUND David Birchett Diane Roach MOST SCHOOL SPIRIT WITTIEST Grade Adams David Moss MOST ATHLETIC Loma Teems Jimmy Rodwine FRIENDLIEST Elaine Cawood Stephen Henley SWEETEST Connie Ware Don Fortenberry MOST VERSATILE William Kittle Susan Callaway MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED Fred Shirley Darlene Sponburger NEATEST JUNIOR SUPERLATIVES JUNIOR Bobby Grant Julie Wyatt David Keys Jeri Headrick SUPERLATIVES WITTIEST Chuck Thompson Darlene Thornton MOST ATHLETIC Micheal Henderson Margret Stockburger SUPERLATIVES MOST COURTEOUS David Trimby Sharon Womack NEATEST Tony Lumpkin Pam Callaway 100 Mr. Richard Clark, Principal May I offer congratulations and gratitude to each of you for the excellent manner in which you have conducted yourselves this year.
