Bright, B. In 1979, Ringgold's basketball team, under the instruction of coaches Lafvlendola, Velicky and Wunderlich, finished high in the Section Standings. With the return of nearly all of their starters, plus many other veterans, the Rams had a highly sucessful season, The Varsity hoopers attribute their fine season to experience and skill. In 1978, Ringgold's Cross Country Team, coached by Mr. Dave McVicker, wrapped up the season with a 5-3 dual meet record. The Rams also competed in several multiteam tournaments in which they finished as high as fourth place. In the WPIAL Qualifier, the Rams finished fifteenth. The lunior Varsity team captured second place in the Washing- ton County Coaches Meet, and they also won dual meets against Baldwin and Upper St. Clair. Overall, the Rams had a successful sea- son in '78.

The three-year veteran has been a starter for the Rams since he was a sophomore. This outstanding senior has been among the top ten scorers in the league for the past two seasons. Rick's excellent scoring ability and rebounding skill have enabled him to play on many all-star teams.
