In 1978, Ringgold's Cross Country Team, coached by Mr. Dave McVicker, wrapped up the season with a 5-3 dual meet record. The Rams also competed in several multiteam tournaments in which they finished as high as fourth place. In the WPIAL Qualifier, the Rams finished fifteenth. The lunior Varsity team captured second place in the Washing- ton County Coaches Meet, and they also won dual meets against Baldwin and Upper St. Clair. Overall, the Rams had a successful sea- son in '78.

Coached by Mr. Loyal Dean, the Ring- gold Soccer team struggled through the 1978 season with an overall record of 1- 12-3. Despite their record, the soccer team showed a lot of hustle and improvement throhout the season. The Rams participated in the Edgewood School for the Deaf Tournament in which they took second place. Larry Manning of Donora, who was leading scorer for the soccer team, received an award for the best offensive player in the Edgewood Tournament. Also, senior Keith Kles was elected to the All-Star team. loe Merolillo hustles after the ball.

With the return of nearly all of their starters, plus many other veterans, the Rams had a highly sucessful season, The Varsity hoopers attribute their fine season to experience and skill.
