Law teacher, Anthony Bruno's Room 123 was the action scene: Senior Law student Richard Mahoney was the defendant, Ms. Jane Kervick (English teacher) was the victim whose diamond necklace was allegedly stolen (ripped off her neck while accused defendant was allegedly pointing a hand gun at her!), Senior Law student Richard Leeman was the arresting police officer, Rindge Senior Robert Hoy, was the victim's husband, Rindge Freshman John Desrosiers was the neighbor. Defense Attorney was State Senator and Attorney Michael LoPresti, Jr. (who made arrangements for the mock trial with his associates and Mr. Bruno), Prosecut- ing Attorney was Assistant District Attorney Andrew Hyer (out of the Office of Gar- ret Byrne, District Attorney for Suffolk County), the Clerk was John F. Geraghty, ‘Assistant Clerk for Criminal Business (out of the Office of Clerk Edward Keating of Suffolk Criminal Superior Court), Robert Ramsey, Assistant Chief Deputy Sheriff (out of the Office of Thomas Eisenstadt, Sheriff of Suffolk County); judge for the mock trial was Law teacher Anthony Bruno. Foreman for the Jurors was Senior law student Frank Winn; the remaining mem- bers of the jury were Rindge students James Cyr, Raymond Cyr, Brian Randell, Andre Higgins and Wayne Logan - whose unanimous decision resulted in a NOT GUILTY verdict for their peer, Defendant Richard Mahoney, who was hailed by most of the 3-score spectators in our Demonstration Courtroom in Room 123 Rindge Technical School.
