1940 RINDGE TECH SCHOOL 25 FRANCIS JOHN BABISH “Whitey” 1 Marcella Street John is 17 years old and graduated from the Kelley Grammar School. His hobbies are Hiking and Farming. He played freshman football and participated in the gym meets in ’36-’37. He belongs to the Chess Club, and is a member of the Junior and Senior Councils and the Year Book Committee. He cites as his interesting incident, “the Chess Club actually won a meet.”’ He intends to come back for a P. G. FRANK PAUL BAIGA “Pudgy” 310 Columbia Street 18 years old. “Pudgy” came to Rindge from the Immacul- ate Conception School. Frank, as you all know was that speed demon of the track for the last two years, and the wiz- ard of the gridiron for the four years that he was here. He also was on the baseball team in ’36-’37. ‘“‘Pudgy’s” favorite hobbies are Pool, Swimming, Photography, and Skating. Frank cites as his most interesting happenings, his position on the track team of °39 that held State Championship, and his membership in the Boosters Club. ‘“Pudgy” is undecided as to What school he shall attend. We know he will succeed in any one of them. So long Frank. HENRY FRANK BANIEWICZ footy “Ham” ha) y-? M 127 Thorndike Street 18 years of age. Prepared at St. Hedwig’s Parochial School. He intends to enter Boston College. Favorite study is History, while his hobbies are Sports and Dancing. Henry Was captain of the ’39 Football Team. He also played in ’36, 37, and ’38. Basketball ’37, ’38, ’39, ’40. “Ham” will live FRANK P, BAIGA : : : ‘ [WENERY BANIEWicz - long in the memory of his classmates. His name will be - Soe placed among the truly great Rindge athletes. = FRANCIS XAVIER BENNETT “Frankie” 489 Concord Avenue Age is 18 years. He graduated from the Russell Grammar School. His intention is to join a Business School. His favorite hobbies are made up of Fishing, Hunting, Football, [FRANCIS x BENNETT. and Hockey. English is his favorite study. He was on the a Hockey Team °36. Best wishes, Frank. PAUL THOMAS BERRY “Paul” 11 Andrew Street 19 years old. “Paul” came to Rindge from the Houghton ae Grammar School. 24 “THE BROWNIB” 1940 S “Joe” 24 Middlesex Street 18 years old. “Joe” graduated from Our Lady of Pity School and has intentions of going to college. His favorite study is Chemistry and his hobbies are Radio and Photo- graphy. “Joe” always gave a lending hand to the setting up of the amplification system in the auditorium. He was a member of the Radio Club and was one of the lads in charge of sound system during the Football Night, ’39. JOSEPH WILLIAM ADAMS : Hay THEODORE L. ANASTAS BEE ON “Ted” Way 86 Gore Street 17 years old. ‘“‘Ted’” came to Rindge from the Putnam Grammar School. A life long ambition of Ted’s is to be- come a first class airplane pilot. His specialty is building model airplanes, thus it follows that his favorite study is Aeoronautics. The most interesting happening to “Ted” was his attendance at the school’s ‘“Fiftieth Anniversary Cele- bration.” Every Senior wishes “Teddy” a world of luck. ALBERT JOHN ANTONIS “Tony” 266 Pearl Street 17 years old. “Tony” entered Rindge from the Blessed Sacrament Grammar School. A member of the Radio Club, “Tony” is a whiz in Radio, and if he does not get a job he intends to return to Rindge for a Post Graduate Course. Best of luck, “Tony.” JOHN R. AUGUSTINE “Gus” 252 Webster Avenue 18 years old. ‘Gus” entered the portals of Rindge from the Immaculate Conception Grammar School. “Gus’” favor- ite study is Metallurgy. His hobbies are Fishing, Swimming, and Wrestling. He was a member of the Junior Council ’38- 39, Senior Council ’39-’40, Senior Year Book Committee ’39- 40. He was also a member of the Freshman Football Team 36, Varsity ’38, and a member of the Track Team which won the Class B championship in ’38-’39. A fine fellow and a bright student, he intends to take advanced study in Machine Shop. We wish him the best of luck. ROBERT HENRY AVERY “Bob” 35 Brookline Street 17 years old. “Bob” entered our portals from the Blessed Sacrament Grammar School. He was a member of the Rindge 459-ers and Rindge Boosters Clubs. His favorite study is English, and his hobbies are Stamps and Coins. “Bob” was a pretty happy boy when his pal was elected Vice-President of the Senior Class. A clever and industrious fellow, “Bob” intends to be a Machinist. How can a boy with his disposi- tion fail? Well, best of luck, ‘Bob.’

26 “THE BROWNIE” 1940 ALBERT HENRY BETTENCOURT “Betty” “Chubby” 8 King Street 17 years old. “Betty” graduated from the Peabody Gram- mar School. Football, Hockey and Swimming are his hobbies, while his intentions are to go to Business School. Book- keeping is his favorite study. “Betty” is a husky boy so he was on the Football Team ’39, BENJAMIN DER BOGHOSIAN “Benny” 992 Cambridge Street 19 years old. “Benny” came to Rindge from the Welling- ton Grammar School. A Stamp Collection is one of his hob- bies, while his favorite studies are Aviation and Electricity. “Benny” was a member of the Safety Patrol for the last four years. To “Benny” the interesting happenings at Rindge were the Championship Hockey Team, Football Champion- ship and the 50th Anniversary of Rindge. “Benny” intends to go to an Aviation School. JAMES HENRY BOND “Big Jim” 202 Elm Street 18 years old. The Ellis Grammar School is responsible for his presence at Rindge. He was a member of the Football and Basketball Teams ’36, ’37, ’38, ’39. He also was a mem- ber of the Dancing Class in ’36-’37. While at Rindge he at- tended many of the social functions. His intentions are to go to Georgia Tech. He intends to take a whack at any- thing that comes his way. His hobbies are Baseball and Basketball. History is his favorite study in School. Home- Room Representative 739. STANLEY EDMUND BOYD “Toots” 125 Austin Street 18 years old. “Toots” prepared for Rindge at St. Mary’s Grammar School. He was a member of the Year Book Com- mittee and his favorite hobby is Swimming. “Toots’” favorite : study is Printing, and he intends to become a first class STANLEY g0YD 2. printer.
