He belonged to the Chess Club, '27, 28 and was manager of Freshman Baseball team, ’26. “Ion” hopes to go to some college next year although he has not definitely made up his mind which one he will attend. He was a member of the Law Club, ’28. “Jimmie” plans to go to work after leaving school. 19 Copley Street. 16 years Fred, more popular as “Red,” was a member of good standing in the Travel Club, '27, ’28, and '29 and of the Law Club, '29. “Red” held down the position of coxswain on the ’27 Sapeeere second crew. He intends to go to hd work. In his Freshman year he rowed CHARLES S. HALVEY 39 Crescent Street. 18 years “Charlie” graduated from the Ag- assiz School. He was a member of the Traffic Squad, ’27 and '28. He is going to work for the General Elec- tric Company and is going to attend Lowell Institute. “Red” has like- He has been one of our “stars” in dramatics, having taken prominent parts in “Pals First,” “Half Back Sandy,” “The Test,” “Double Crossed” and “The Vagabonds.” We wish him luck! he is going to do. HYMAN WALLACE 436 Windsor Street. 18 years “Hymie” flitted into the presence of the boys here at Rindge from the Wellington School. When we review the four vears “Hymie” spent in our pres- ence we find that in his Freshman and Sophomore years he was conserving his energy for those memorable things which he did in his Junior and Senior vears. In his Junior year “Hymie” was one of our best players in the Checker Club. He also had an outstanding and difficult part in the Senior drama in his Junior year. In his Senior year he was an active member of the Law and Travel Clubs. In his last year he was also Club Editor for the Register, al- ways giving vivid and accurate accounts of the meetings of each club. When we asked “Hymie’’ what prizes he had won, he modestly replied, “I don’t re- member.” Well, “Hymie” is going to Boston University Business School next year. He will take a business course there. Everyone of “Hymie’s” friends, and he has many, are sorry to see him go and we, one and all, wish him the best of luck. He is undecided what PE et Sk ne re i ES a JOSEPH McDONALD 98 Foster Street. 18 years “Joe,” otherwise known as “Choppy,” was welcomed into Rindge from St. Peter's School. During his four years at Rindge “Joe” did his bit for the school. In his Sophmore year he ran on the Track team. He continued his splendid work on Track in his Junior year and would haye continued in his Senior year if Track had not been discontinued. In his Junior year “Joe” was one of Rindge’s foremost cross country men. He was captain-elect in his Senior year but cross country was also discontinued. He was out for baseball as a Junior. “Joe” belonged to the Checker Club in his Junior year and was also a member of the Traffic squad. He was also a member of the Law Club. In his Senior year Joe was quite active, being a member of the Law, Travel and Science Clubs. He was a member of the Traffic squad and the Student Council. In his Senior year he was also on the Senior Drama Committee. We are sorry to lose Joe. go to work. He will not take a P. G. course but intends to

He was a mem- ber of the Glee Club, ‘26, °27, 28, '29; Radio Club, '26; Checker Club; Law Club, ’29; Color Guard, ’26, ’27 and the Traffic Squad in ‘29. He has not only been a good student, but he has always been enthusiastic to help in promoting school activities, and has always been a “good sport” on the athletic field. Then too, “Jake” has a very keen sense of humor and is a witty conversationalist the both of which tend to make him popular. ; 2 “Jake” made his letter in two major sports, football and crew. He was a member of the Crew in '26 and rowed in the bow position on the champion- ship crew in '27. He went out for Football in his Freshman year, determined to make a success of it,and by faithful practice and playing he did what he set out to do. He choose the position of guard and played ther during his four years on the squad. Every fellow that goes out for football has the hope that some day he will be made captain. “Jake” was one of the few that ever realized this hope, since he was captain of this year’s team. “Jake” has also been an active member among the Rindge clubs, having been a jnember of the Ski, '26; Checker, '26; Torch, ’27; Morning Watch, ’28; Travel, ‘28, ’29; Science, '29; Glee, '29; Law, '29: and Thirteen Club, '29. He has also served on many cominittees, among them being the Foothall Dance, Student Council Welfare, '27; and Home Room, '28. “Jake” was also a “private” on the Color Guard, '27, and a representative on the Student Council '26 and ’27, being secretary in ’27. His interest in the Traffic squad has caused many fellows to admire him for his service. He was just a “subordinate” in '27 and rose to the position of Captain in '28 and ‘29. “Jake's” dramatic ability did not stay hidden very prominent parts in the Christmas plays in 26 and '27; in the Senior dramas of '27, 28, '29; in the Public Speaking Contest, '28; and the Musical “Test” in 29 In the line of prizes, “Jake’’ has won his share. He received two crew prizes, and the Rindge Alumni Football cup of 1927 for being the most versa- lile player. ” long since he took “Jake's” services on the Register cannot pass unnoticed because he has been a very helpful and agreeable contributor. We wish “Jake” all the luck in the world, and guarantee that he is “bound to win,” as long as he doesn't “join the navy.” CLARENCE WILFRED WESTBERG 37 Regent Street. “Westy” graduated from the Ellis School. During his four years here “Westy” has become one of the school’s outstanding athletes. He was a mem- ber of the following teams: Baseball: catcher, '26, '27, '28, '29, captain '27 and 18 years 29: Hockey, ’26, ’27, 28, ’29, center, captain, 28; Football, end, '28, ’29 and Basketball, '28. He was given all-scholastic prominence as a baseball and hockey player. “Westy” was a member of the Travel Club, '27, ’28, ’29 and of the Law Club, ‘29.
